Rock County commissioners approve interfund transfers, vendor contracts and a catering endorsement

The board approved a $2,475 contract with Rasmussen Mechanical Service to perform boiler maintenance and HVAC servicing for area schools after a presentation by Collin Martin of Rasmussen Mechanical. The motion to contract Rasmussen carried on unanimous roll call.
In finance actions, the commissioners approved a small reconciliation transfer of $15.47 from the imprest account to the treasurer’s account to correct an Aflac overpayment, and they recorded an adjustment in the Hospital Bond Fund reflecting a $135,000 principal payment and $945 interest. Most notably, the board approved interfund transfers on a motion by Commissioner Faye Smith, seconded by Chairman Hollenbeck: $180,000 from the General Fund to Road, $180,000 from Road to Inheritance, and $24,010.10 from Capital Projects to Inheritance. All votes were recorded as "All For; None Against."
The commissioners also approved a two‑year natural gas contract with Symmetry; the minutes record the board’s approval but do not specify contract pricing or terms. The board adopted a Road Mowing Policy after discussion with County Attorney Kurt Arganbright and Highway Superintendent Elizabeth Yost; the minutes do not include policy text.
Representatives Casey Foster and Erika Coulter requested a catering endorsement for the Bassett Country Club. The board opened the advertised public hearing, closed it, and approved the endorsement by unanimous vote.
The board approved claims including an ambulance cot purchase: the ambulance service supplied two informal quotes and selected a Fyr Tek cot after being unable to obtain a third quote; the claims for April 7 and April 21 were then approved.
