Mount Arlington council approves routine resolutions, appoints volunteer firefighter

The Mount Arlington Borough Council on Sept. 9 unanimously approved a package of routine municipal resolutions and confirmed the appointment of Charlotte Chapman as a volunteer firefighter.
Council President Delaney moved to approve the listed resolutions, and Councilman Cangiano seconded. The resolutions approved included: adopting the check register for Sept. 9, 2025; authorizing receipt of bids for water and sewer systems emergency repair services; executing a professional veterinary services agreement with Hodes Veterinary Group; authorizing the tax collector to participate in an electronic tax sale; establishing a $25 fee for creation/printing/mailing of tax sale notices; redeeming several third‑party tax lien certificates for properties at Block 2 Lot 33, Block 40 Lot 4 and Block 82 Lot 1.04; and refunding tax overpayments for specified properties. The council recorded aye votes from Councilman BaRoss, Councilman Cangiano, Councilwoman Fostle, Councilman Fuller, Councilwoman Galate and Council President Delaney; none opposed or abstained.
Separately, the council approved Resolution 2025-120 appointing Charlotte Chapman as a volunteer firefighter. The motion to appoint Chapman was made by Councilman Cangiano and seconded by Council President Delaney; the council voted unanimously to approve the appointment.
Later in the meeting the council authorized a solicitor's permit for Michael Rothman of Green Star Exteriors (motion by Councilman BaRoss; second by Councilwoman Fostle) and approved the minutes of the Aug. 5, 2025 meeting (motion by Councilman BaRoss; second by Councilwoman Fostle). The meeting recessed for an executive session at 7:34 p.m. to discuss contract negotiations and returned to the public session at 8:42 p.m.; the public meeting adjourned at 8:43 p.m.
The actions taken at the meeting were procedural and routine in nature; no contested votes or substantive policy changes were recorded in the public portion of the meeting.
