The New Port Richey City Council approved a contract award for the city's 2023–2024 street improvement program to EZ Contracting LLC for an amount not to exceed $1,770,724.47, staff said.
City staff presented the project scope, which covers arterial and collector roads and residential repairs identified as Paving Group Cycle 7. Staff said four competitive sealed bids were opened on Feb. 28, 2025, with low and high bids ranging from roughly $1.77 million to $2.18 million; the engineer of record reviewed submissions and recommended award to the low bidder.
The council discussed project timing and specific corridors (including Grand Boulevard and Marine Parkway) and asked about contractor mobilization. Staff said a notice of award would be issued, a preconstruction meeting held, and the contractor would mobilize, typically within 45–60 days depending on paperwork and mobilization schedules.
Funding for the project is identified in the city's capital improvement program and the street fund (fund 701), staff said. Council approved the award by voice vote.
