Moore Haven council adopts FY2026 budget, sets millage at 4.6725

The Moore Haven City Council on Sept. 15 unanimously approved a final property tax millage rate of 4.6725 and adopted the city’s budget for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2026.
City Manager Larry Tibbs told the council that a tentative budget public hearing was held on Sept. 3 and that the tentative millage had been set at 4.6725 and advertised in the newspaper. "We did set the millage rate at 4.6725; that was advertised in the newspaper," Tibbs said.
City Attorney Steve Ramunni read Resolution No. 2026-01, which states the percentage by which the millage rate levied exceeds the rolled-back rate. Council Member Alisha Beck moved to approve the resolution and the millage rate; Council Member RaShonda Croskey seconded both motions. Both motions carried on recorded votes of 5-0.
Ramunni also read Resolution No. 2025-02, the formal resolution adopting the budget for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2026. Beck moved to adopt Resolution No. 2025-02; Croskey seconded. The motion carried 5-0. The minutes and transcript do not list a total dollar amount for the adopted budget.
No members of the public spoke during the citizens' comment period. After the votes, Croskey moved to adjourn; Beck seconded and the meeting adjourned at 5:07 p.m. Digital recordings of the meeting are available through the city clerk’s office for anyone who wishes to review the full hearing.
