The Laurel School District Board of Education met in public session and approved a series of routine administrative items on motions carried by roll call, including a small increase to the adult lunch price and multiple facility-use requests.
The board approved a recommended increase in the adult lunch price from $5.00 to $5.25 for the 2025–26 school year after a motion and roll-call vote. "So moved," one board member said before the president called the roll; the recorded votes on the motion were entered as approving.
In addition, the board approved grouped requests for fundraisers and professional trips, and granted facility use for community events including a trunk-or-treat style "Trunk Retreat" (Oct. 25, 2025), youth basketball season-long gym use (Dec. 6, 2025–Apr. 4, 2026), and a Pop Warner homecoming event (Oct. 11, 2025). The board waived recommended facility, custodial and constable fees in several of the approvals; organizers were required to provide certificates of liability insurance.
The board also set assessment days, approving PSAT administration for sophomores on March 10–11, 2026 and SAT dates for juniors on March 12–13, 2026, and authorized asynchronous instruction for other student cohorts on those dates.
On labor matters, the board approved the final tentative agreement with LEA food-service workers and a separate final tentative agreement covering support staff. Each agreement was moved, seconded and approved by roll-call vote as recorded on the meeting record.
Multiple personnel reports discussed in executive session (listed as attachments A–D) were moved and approved by roll-call vote during the meeting.
