Bids for Topping Phase 2A due July 1; staff will send bids directly to Board of Aldermen

Public Works staff reported that bids for Topping Phase 2A were issued and will be returned July 1, 2026, and because of the Board's summer schedule staff will present those bids directly to the Board of Aldermen at its July 13 meeting rather than bringing them first to the Public Works Commission.
Todd Rehg, Public Works Director, told the commission that bids for Topping Phase 2A have been issued and will be returned on July 1, 2026, because the project was placed on MoDOT's bid list. He said that, given the Board of Aldermen's summer schedule, staff will take the bids directly to the Board on July 13, 2026, instead of presenting them first to the Public Works Commission.
The commission recorded the schedule change as an informational item; no formal motion to alter the procurement process was made in the minutes. The Board of Aldermen will be the decision body for bid awards when it considers the returned bids on July 13.
