Clermont council authorizes road‑preservation contracts and reallocates $15,000 for speed table on Tansel Road

Councilor Lambard outlined a plan to extend a recently completed road‑treatment process across town and presented two Authorization to Proceed contract attachments from engineering firm USI: up to $13,000 for development of a Pavement Asset Management Plan (PAMP) and up to $9,000 in time‑and‑material support for the next CCMG grant application. The council approved the contract amendments by unanimous roll call.
Councilor Lambard also proposed traffic‑calming measures after residents raised concerns about speeds on Tansel Road. Sam Schilling, a nearby resident and member of the Robey PTO and Friends of Robey Park, discussed a relocatable speed table option. Councilor Lambard moved to install a speed‑table/crosswalk near Kathleen with appropriate signage; after budget review the council restated and approved a motion to reallocate $15,000 from the Local Road and Street Budget line 365 to pay for the project at a cost not to exceed $15,000. The motion passed by unanimous roll call.
The council accepted a proposed 2026/2027 Snow and Salt contract from contractor All‑Terrain; plowing rates rise from $600 to $720 per event because of fuel cost increases. Councilor Beam requested the contract include sidewalk shoveling in front of Town Hall.
Councilors also discussed restriping the faded center line on Tansel Road and solicited quotes; they debated single versus double yellow centerline treatments and next steps for vendor quotes.
The PAMP authorization and CCMG‑support contracts are time‑and‑materials engagements with caps of $13,000 and $9,000 respectively. The speed‑table will be funded by reallocating $15,000 already budgeted for local road and street improvements. No changes to the overall town budget were required beyond the internal reallocation approved by the council.
The council approved these items by unanimous roll call and adjourned at 8:56 p.m.
