Cusco outlined logistics: proposed date Sept. 12 (rain date Sept. 13), street closure timing (set-up at 3 p.m., event 5–9 p.m., streets to clear by 11 p.m.), traffic and delivery concerns, and coordination with police and town staff. He said proceeds would go to Cancer Can to assist local families with financial and logistical needs.
During board questions, members pressed organizers to consult directly with impacted merchants, plan for deliveries and parking, and consider running a cocktail-hour-only option if sit-down logistics proved infeasible the first year. Cusco said he had reached out to neighboring towns that have run similar events and that initial feedback had been very positive.
The board moved to approve the special event permit for Michael Cusco/Cancer Can for Sept. 12 (set-up 3 p.m.; event 5–9 p.m.), subject to final sign-offs from required town departments and a follow-up report at the board's Aug. 4 meeting. The motion passed on a voice vote.
