Main Street Pascagoula expects about $650,000 for streetscape work; joint meeting with city and businesses planned

Olivia Randle, representing Main Street Pascagoula, told the Pascagoula Redevelopment Authority on March 16 that Main Street expects to receive approximately $650,000 in combined grant funding and local matching dollars to support downtown streetscape improvements.
Randle said Main Street is identifying how best to use the funding and plans to present several options at a joint meeting that will include Main Street, the City of Pascagoula, the Pascagoula Redevelopment Authority and local businesses that would be affected by the improvements. The meeting is intended to solicit input from business owners and coordinate next steps for design and implementation.
City Manager and PRA Executive Director Justin Larsen and other city staff were in attendance but did not announce a final scope or timeline for the streetscape work at the meeting. Main Street’s estimate of about $650,000 refers to the combined total of grant funds and the required local match; exact funding sources and allocations were not specified at the meeting.
The Board recorded the update as part of the regular meeting and will consider specific proposals when Main Street presents them at the planned joint session.
