Heritage Pines CDD approves cleanup plan for Parcel 33, schedules follow-up inspections

The Heritage Pines Community Development District on Dec. 10 approved a proposal for additional cleanup at Parcel 33 that includes perimeter cleanup, dead-tree removal, mulching and optional weed-whacker work on a dry retention slope.
District Manager Chuck Adams presented the proposal requested by Supervisor Carol Vaughan and described the scope as informed by a site visit. District Engineer Kurt Heath said the center of the area contains a natural wetland, the western side includes a separate excavated retention area and the south side is difficult to mow with equipment; Heath recommended limited weed-whacker work in the dry retention slope area because it does not impede drainage.
Supervisor Lonergan asked that maps be provided to Supervisor Putman and clarified that the strip from the wall to the white stakes is CDD property and should be cleared. Grounds Superintendent Tim Gatz said wood chips are free and additional mulching will occur in early spring; he also said he will inspect native grasses at Hole 2 to determine whether replacement is needed.
On a motion by Michael Walsh, seconded by Stephen Putman, and with all in favor, the board approved the proposal including the optional scope of work. The invoice will be paid upon completion, and staff will provide the requested maps and follow up on the retention-area inspection.
