At its Dec. 10 meeting the Heritage Pines Community Development District Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 2025-02 to amend the Fiscal Year 2023/24 budget to account for a major equipment purchase and other adjustments.
District Manager Chuck Adams presented the amendment, explaining staff added columns to the budget showing “Actual” versus the “Adopted Budget” and a “Proposed Increase/(Decrease)” column to clarify variances. To cover possible additional journal entries, the board increased the “Operations and maintenance – Contingencies” line by $20,000; Adams said any unused funds would remain in the surplus fund balance.
Chair Kathleen Lonergan noted the district expects a $1,298 refund from the Tax Collector’s Office reflecting differences between actual and amended budget figures. On a motion by Michael Walsh, seconded by Stephen Putman, the board adopted Resolution 2025-02 unanimously.
The amendment formalizes accounting changes tied to a recently purchased lawnmower identified as a major expenditure; the board did not provide a more detailed equipment specification or vendor information during the meeting. The amended financial statements and updated budget columns will be reflected in the district records going forward.
