Estacada council approves $1,500 sponsorship for EHS Booster Club senior party

Helena Snyder, treasurer of the EHS Boosters and chair of the senior grad party committee, asked the council for financial assistance to provide a safe, alcohol- and drug-free graduation event for seniors. She said the boosters have committed $4,100 toward a roughly $7,300 venue cost and sought additional support to cover remaining expenses and prizes.
"Currently, we have a 123 that are slated to graduate," Snyder said, and added the boosters budgeted for about 100 attendees but hope to serve all 123. She said scholarships are available so no student is turned away.
Councilors voiced strong support for the boosters, discussed sponsorship levels and moved to increase the city's contribution to $1,500. The motion was seconded and approved on roll call; councilors also asked staff to promote QR-based fundraising links and scholarship availability for students who need assistance.
