BronxNet's coverage this week highlighted two neighborhood economic stories: Savor the Bronx, a citywide week of restaurant promotions, and the grand opening of Hand in Hand, a Throggs Neck wellness and small-business hub.
"The Bronx doesn't just cook. It serves," said BronxNet reporter Ashley De Leon in a Savor the Bronx preview. De Leon said the press conference at Dripps Restaurant announced more than 40 participating restaurants across Bronx neighborhoods from Woodlawn to City Island. The week-long initiative (July 6–12) offers special menus and discounts intended to drive traffic to local businesses.
In a separate package, reporter Kyrie Moody covered the grand opening of Hand in Hand in Throggs Neck, a new space that includes a wellness suite, media and content studio, co‑working lounge and clinical suite. Entrepreneur Tiffany Robertson and nurse practitioner Janice Smith described services ranging from noninvasive body sculpting to home-visit primary care now available on-site.
Organizers said the space aims to support small, brick-and-mortar businesses and to provide community-accessible wellness and clinical services. For details about Savor the Bronx, hosts pointed viewers to local restaurant listings and to Hand in Hand's website at handinhandmy.com for suite information.
Both segments emphasized local economic recovery and community supports as the primary goals driving the events and openings.
