Shelby County Planning Commission moves August application deadline and cancels June 15 meeting

The Shelby County Planning Commission voted unanimously on June 1 to move the application submission deadline for its August 17 meeting from Friday, July 3, 2026, to Thursday, July 2, 2026, after Planning Manager Josh Osborne noted county offices will be closed July 3 for Independence Day.
Commissioner Brett Winford moved the change and Commissioner Lannette Thomas seconded. The motion passed by a 6-0 vote.
Osborne also confirmed the June 15 meeting has been canceled because there were no cases ready for public hearing; he said the next regularly scheduled meeting on July 20 will include a zoning case from 2024 that is now set for a two-year review. The commission adjourned at about 6:12 p.m.
