Water/Sewer Superintendent Randy Maynard said the lift station "dates back to 1994; its bottom is rotted out causing the pump to run constantly causing the breaker to burn out." Maynard reviewed estimates from Lloyd Harold, Alliance Pump Mechanical Services and JCI Industries and recommended Lloyd Harold, noting the vendor's lower quote and availability.
Attachment documents provided at the meeting list the three estimates: Lloyd Harold's estimate totaled $12,635.00, Alliance's quote totaled approximately $22,014.45, and JCI's quote listed $23,260.00. After discussion, Alderman Hull moved to approve Lloyd Harold's quote for the replacement; Alderman Williams seconded and the motion passed unanimously (4 ayes, 2 absent).
The board recorded the approval without amendments. The replacement is intended to stop the constant running and electrical issues at the station; the superintendent will manage scheduling and installation with the awarded contractor.
