Masson said the combined projected cost is $23.9 million, which he noted is below the county’s earlier May estimate of $25.6 million.
Vice President Thomas P. Murtaugh and Commissioner David S. Byers both moved and seconded the motion to approve the resolution; the motion carried. Masson described the approval as formalizing previously awarded transaction documents to ensure clarity and transparency for the project’s multi‑phase work, which includes traffic signal and intersection safety improvements along CR 425 N.
The board did not record a detailed public comment period on the transaction documents at the meeting. Commissioners indicated the procedural approval allows the county and contractor to proceed with design and construction activities under the defined Phase 1 contract and the negotiated additional scope if the separate negotiations conclude favorably.
Next steps identified by county staff include finalizing outstanding negotiations on the negotiated elements and continuing routine project oversight and coordination with affected road jurisdictions.
