RSU 24 facilities director details repairs, asbestos removal and free school meals in annual report

Janet Jordan delivered the RSU 24 annual facilities report, summarizing operations, nutrition, transportation and year-long capital and maintenance work.
Jordan said breakfast, lunch and snacks "remain complimentary again this year," and gave FY26 participation and revenue figures for meals alongside a notice that adult meals and a la carte revenues will be audited. She also reported that the district received two 77-passenger Thomas Built buses delivered the previous August and that transportation staffing is fully restored.
Major facility projects completed during the year included integrated bell-system installations, exterior-door and roof repairs, LED retrofits, replacement of a kitchen fire-suppression system to meet code, playground and drainage repairs, asbestos abatement at Mountain View in specified rooms, and upgrades to the district-wide telephone and intercom systems. Jordan said the district had in-house work as well as contracted projects such as rip-rap on a softball-field bank and commercial grub control for athletic fields.
For FY27 the district plans no large capital projects and will focus on maintaining facilities, replacing aging equipment and continuing safety-related work such as ALICE window coverings and inventorying emergency bucket supplies.
The board moved to accept Jordan’s report by voice vote with no additional discussion.
