During community information remarks at the May 5 Board meeting, Commissioner Elsa told colleagues she opposed Ballot Initiative 175 and HB 26-1430 and intended to join a Colorado Counties, Inc. Emergency Steering Committee meeting later that day. Commissioner Andrew Lee said he shared that opposition and also planned to attend the CCI meeting; he praised Public Health for its response to local measles cases and thanked the finance team for improved audit granularity. Commissioner Mathew Bullock stated he did not have a position on the ballot measure or the bill but said he planned to join the same meeting.
The Board recessed from noon to 1 p.m. to allow commissioners to attend the CCI session virtually. The transcript records the statements as part of community information; no formal Board action on the measures was recorded in the May 5 meeting minutes.
