Chelmsford Select Board approves licenses, appointments and routine actions; extends town accountant’s contract

The Chelmsford Select Board handled multiple routine licenses, appointments and personnel matters at its June 29 meeting, approving every motion by unanimous roll-call vote.

Licenses and transfers approved included an amendment for Pressed Café’s all-alcohol restaurant license to allow a change of manager and changes in beneficial interests, a one-day Wine and Malt Beverages license and expansion of entertainment for Diggy’s LLC (DBA Brickhouse Center) for July 3, and transfer of a Class II auto dealer license from Duffy’s Auto Company to Three Sons Collision of Chelmsford, LLC at 50 Tyngsboro Rd. Each motion was made by Vice Chair Jeffrey Hardy, seconded by Clerk David Boisvert, and carried 5–0.

In appointments, Christina Andersen was appointed to the CTI Board effective June 16, 2026; the board also approved the Acting Town Manager’s appointments and reappointments, including the reappointment of Debra L. Belden to the Permanent Building Committee, Judy Omobono to the Parade Committee, and Albert Glenn Diggs to the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The board approved the June 15, 2026 meeting minutes by unanimous vote. In personnel actions related to the town accountant, the board rated Town Accountant Darlene Lussier’s FY26 performance as 'exceptional' and voted to continue her contract until retirement with a 4% salary increase; Ms. Lussier expressed 'mixed emotions' about retiring, and Acting Town Manager John Sousa thanked her for her years of service.
