Proctor plans short-term water backflow fixes; wastewater replacements may be bonded

During the meeting the Board of Water Commissioners reported that two of four backflow prevention devices (BFPs) in the system are functioning and two are not. The estimated cost to replace the two water devices is $943.00; wastewater replacements for two devices were estimated at $4,800.00.
The board recorded that the water BFPs will be installed by the end of the month. For wastewater devices, members said they are waiting for parts and are considering including the wastewater replacements in a bond so the town does not purchase equipment that could be replaced during larger planned upgrades.
Separately, the Board of Sewer Commissioners said a bond flyer for the wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) should be ready this week for pickup and mailing to stakeholders.
