Putney Fire & Rescue Committee weighing governance models, seeks community input

Alden said the committee is studying models such as an independent nonprofit (501(c)(3)) operating under town auspices, continuing to operate under the town, or establishing a fire district. The committee is evaluating how to involve community input as it weighs each option; no action or formal decision was taken at the meeting.
Separately, the minutes note a Rescue Forum scheduled for Sept. 29 in Townshend, VT, for which the committee wanted a head count from Putney.
