Putney Selectboard approves warrants and backs grant application to repair pool doors

The board approved payroll dated Sept. 6 for $24,972.87, which includes some pool staff, and accounts payable dated Aug. 24–Sept. 6 totaling $125,573.38, which the minutes note includes loan payments and fire department-related expenses. Eric McGowan moved to approve the warrants upon completion of review; Nate Snell seconded. The motion passed.
On new business, Town Manager Karen Astley presented a draft letter of support for a Building Communities grant to replace two sets of metal doors at Putney Pool. The project estimate is $23,527 and the grant maximum is $25,000; staff proposed using the pool’s fundraising special account (about $33,000) as the local match. The Selectboard approved the letter with the edits discussed and authorized Chair Aileen Chute to sign; the motion was made by Peg Alden and seconded by Nate Snell.
