Selectboard schedules special meeting to review major changes to Richford's housing ordinance

The Selectboard received a revised copy of the Town of Richford Housing Ordinance with significant changes that, according to the minutes, would give the Selectboard more authority to enforce the rule. Board members agreed the revisions warranted additional discussion and scheduled a special meeting for Nov. 13 at 4:30 p.m. to review the draft.
No formal action on the ordinance was taken at the Nov. 3 meeting. The board discussed that the changes are substantial and will require focused review; the minutes record that the item was added to Other Business by Selectman Alan Fletcher.
The Conservation Commission has also requested to attend the Dec. 1 meeting to discuss grants; board members discussed including a grants report in the Town Report for clarity on how grant funds are incorporated into the budget.
The special meeting scheduled for Nov. 13 will be the next opportunity for the public and board to discuss the ordinance changes and any potential enforcement provisions.
