Selectboard reviews infrastructure, public-works and service updates; trash day set for Oct. 18

Town Administrator Marissa Tessier briefed the Richford Selectboard on a suite of public-works and facilities items at the Sept. 15 meeting, including grant activity, a dry-hydrant installation, and scheduled maintenance.
Tessier reported that Grants-In-Aid reimbursement has been submitted; highway work on Combs Road was performed as part of that grant project. She said a dry-hydrant has been installed in East Richford and the town is pursuing reimbursement for that installation. The town also scheduled Community Trash Day for Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the town garage.
Highway staff reported that winter gravel is in place and that spot grading has been completed. The board asked highway personnel to place metal in the dumpster behind the fire station.
Building updates included completion of work at Town Hall and upcoming roof work at the library. Tessier said the Post Office door is delayed and may arrive in three to five weeks; the town is awaiting a quote for Town Hall pillars.
Water and sewer staff informed the board that budget work for those utilities is underway, that they are researching the cost of a larger generator for the water plant, and that they are evaluating different chemical options for the sewer lagoon.
The board took no formal votes on these operational items; the reports were recorded in the meeting minutes and staff were directed to continue work and to report back as needed.
