Residents ask Selectboard to remove 'no parking' signs, raise concerns about property violation and memorial 'hang out'

Whitney Benzing asked the Town of Richford Selectboard to remove two 'no parking' signs in front of her shop and to have pavement markings repainted with lines and the words 'no parking' on the roadway. After input from Jason Wetherby, the board agreed to remove the middle sign and redo the markings.
Benzing and Noah Lamos also asked about the status of a zoning violation at a nearby property owned by Leah Britch. The zoning administrator reported that an inspection on June 30, 2025 found no changes to the property since the last review; Benzing and Lamos were asked to provide a letter listing their issues with the property.
Lamos said he was concerned about people 'hanging out' behind the Veteran’s Memorial on Main Street and worried there was not sufficient police coverage. The Selectboard did not record a formal directive at the meeting on increased patrols; the concern was entered into the public-comment record. Benzing and Lamos left the meeting at 5:15 p.m.
The board did not vote on enforcement steps during the meeting; residents were directed to submit written concerns for follow-up.
