Energy committee reports strong Fall Festival outreach; member to speak at VLCT panel

Reading Energy Board members said outreach at the Fall Festival yielded community interest in weatherization and that the committee will continue outreach through the town Informer and word-of-mouth. Bill Neukomm said he staffed a committee table with Brian Cali and that turnout at the festival was good; he also said he wrote an article for the Informer seeking weatherization leads.
Cali said the festival produced at least one possible lead for weatherization work and that he has redistributed solar array production credits among town buildings to better align benefits with needs. Paul Doherty said he will contact Lisa regarding the Town Garage energy plan to advance planning for that facility.
Cali said he has been invited to speak on Nov. 1 at a Vermont League of Cities and Towns panel about energy-committee work in municipalities. The committee set its next meeting for Nov. 20 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom.
