The Myrtle Creek City Council appointed Jamie McElmurry to the remainder of Council Position No. 2 at its Sept. 15, 2025 meeting following interviews of three applicants.
Council interviewed Gail Black, Jamie McElmurry and Jessica Sharon before deliberating. Councilor Robert Chaney moved to appoint McElmurry; Councilor Cathey Wragg seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. McElmurry took the oath of office and joined the council at the dais.
Councilors thanked all applicants and encouraged them to remain engaged in city affairs. The appointment fills the open seat and will continue until the term’s scheduled expiration.
