Reading reports 3,600 kWh produced since April 1; credits allocated to town buildings

Member Brian Cali reported production and crediting details for the town’s municipal solar array at the meeting.
Cali said the array produced 3,600 kWh since April 1 (March total 4,390 kWh) and a lifetime total of 29,400 kWh since it came online on Aug. 26, 2024. He said the array produced roughly $2,050 worth of electricity since Jan. 1; those revenues first cover the fire house and excess credits are allocated across town properties based on annual usage: Town Garage 35%, Food Shelf 25%, Robinson Hall 25%, and Library 15%.
The board will continue posting solar production updates on Front Porch Forum and in quarterly reports to town officials. The board did not record a vote related to the solar account at this meeting.
