Roxbury committee assigns maintenance plan and budget duties, eyes REDI grant

At the committee retreat on June 24, Roxbury Village School Committee members used an Eisenhower Matrix and a blueprint exercise to set short-term priorities and responsibilities for planning the school building’s future.
Members assigned Bob Ketchel and Kristen Getler to draft a Maintenance Plan due Nov. 1. Heidi Albright and Jim Rogler were tasked with producing a draft budget for fiscal year 2027 by Sept. 1. The committee agreed to pursue a REDI grant but had not assigned a lead for that application.
The group sketched potential uses on a blueprint of the school and discussed posting the diagram at a future community gathering for dot-vote engagement. Next steps included contacting Ben Doyle for examples and completed workplans from similar communities, reapplying the Eisenhower Matrix to sequence projects, designing a community survey on building uses, and creating a plan to expand committee participation.
Committee members said these assignments and the outreach plan are intended to help the committee develop realistic, community-informed options for reuse at an appropriate scale.
