Notices for council vacancies will follow on Nov. 20 so mayoral applicants not selected may apply for a council position.
Councilor Trista Papen moved to adopt Resolution No. 2321 declaring a vacancy on the North Plains City Council; Councilor Katie Reding seconded the motion. The council approved the resolution unanimously.
Councilors said they supported Council President Dumbrow stepping into the mayoral role in principle but emphasized they would follow the municipal‑code process described by the city attorney.
