Richford updates on Town Hall, library and sewer work; board holds personnel executive session

Town Clerk Kiley Deuso told the Selectboard the Town Hall MERPS project will schedule a contractor for insulation, that engineering for the heating system is complete and will go to bid at the end of December, and that chimney repairs and a new liner are needed. She said a Structures Grant is being held until spring and that reimbursement for a spill is being submitted this week.
In the buildings report, workman Ritchie was said to be continuing brick repairs at Town Hall. The minutes say the library roof work will begin in the next week or two; once that project finishes, roof work at the EMS building will start and interior damage will be repaired. The post office door has been ordered and is expected within five to six weeks.
The water and sewer report recorded that a plug has been installed at Blue Seal, staff need to follow up with the town attorney about the Dunlavey Avenue water line, and accounts are being set up with USDA Rural Development so the town can apply for sewer plant grants.
Under parks, staff called out contractor D & D to repair electrical at Main Street Park so cameras can be connected. Selectwoman Sherry Paquette raised a separate issue about the air conditioning at the post office and said staff are seeking quotes for a heat‑pump alternative.
Late in the meeting Selectwoman Paquette moved the board into executive session at 5:55 p.m. to discuss personnel; Selectman Andy Pond seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The board returned at 7:00 p.m. on a motion by Chair Steinhour, seconded by Selectman Alan Fletcher; the minutes state no votes resulted from the executive session. The meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
