Waterford board recognizes 4th-quarter student achievers and six retirees

During the June 17 meeting the Waterford Township Board of Education recognized students named for the fourth marking period and presented retiree acknowledgments. Superintendent Michael A. Nolan and building principals announced student honorees by grade: kindergarten—Olivia Hollingsworth (teacher: Ms. Handzus); first grade—Logan Simoni (Ms. Bromley); second grade—Teagan McGinnis (Ms. Campanella); third grade—Thea Schwanda (Ms. Dimitratos); fourth grade—Harley Atkinson (Ms. Agoston); fifth grade—Myla Pratt (Ms. Borman); sixth grade—Holly Hume (Mr. Ambroselli/Mr. Cohen).
The board also honored six retirees by name: Elizabeth Friedman; Alex Handzus; Karen Litchko; Mary Low; Anna Russomanno; and Carol Young. A NEPBIS (New Jersey Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) district recognition program presentation was included on the agenda and acknowledged by the administration.
There were no recorded public comments associated with the recognition items. The recognitions were presented early in the open meeting before the personnel and finance packages were considered.
