At its June 17 meeting the Waterford Township Board of Education approved a package of personnel actions for the 2026–27 school year, including new certified hires, long-term substitute appointments, extended-school-year (ESY) staffing and several staff resignations.
The motion to approve Personnel items 1–11 plus addendum items 12–18 was made by board member Benjamin De Vuyst and seconded by Jason Galante; the package passed on a roll-call vote. Appointments included Kimberly Cote as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (part-time, effective Aug. 25, 2026) and Emilee Creedon as a preschool teacher (1.0 FTE). Long-term substitute assignments approved included Kelly Akras (grade 2), Allison Hand (grade 6) and Alyssa Sorce (kindergarten). The board also approved on-call staff recommendations and substitute rates (example: Heather Chew, secretary substitute $18.75/hr; Theresa Wressig-Sharbo, custodian substitute $19.86/hr).
Multiple resignations were recorded effective June 30, 2026, including support staff (Vanessa Bowling; Nicole Davis; Lora Harrell; Janice Quirk) and certified staff (Emily Kingsland). The board approved ESY support staffing and corresponding pay rates (e.g., a bus driver at $32.00/hr for ESY transportation; resignation and replacement details recorded in agenda attachments).
The board also authorized submission of the Business Administrator/Board Secretary employment contract for Christopher Eberly to the Department of Education.
The personnel package was presented as a grouped set of approvals; there is no extended debate recorded in the minutes. The board will implement hires pending receipt of required documentation and will reflect staffing updates in subsequent payroll and assignment records.
