Selectboard approves mowing RFP, Rocky Ridge liquor licenses and consent agenda; hears road and clerk reports

At its March 19 meeting, the Saint George Selectboard approved several routine administrative items, including a Property Mowing Request for Proposals and three liquor licenses for Rocky Ridge, and heard operational reports from staff.
The board approved the Property Mowing RFP as amended; Selectboard member Adam Dantzscher will work with Town Clerk Lisa Laramee to prepare the RFP for publication and posting. The board also approved three liquor-license applications for Rocky Ridge and approved the Town Meeting minutes during the meeting’s action items. A later consent-agenda motion approved January Selectboard minutes and Order Number Approval as presented. All votes on these items were reported as unanimous among members present.
Road Commissioner Scott Brooks said he received one response to a road-related RFP from Watershed Consulting and reported ongoing discussions with neighboring towns (Shelburne, Williston, Hinesburg) and the Chittenden County Sheriff’s Office about possible contracted speed enforcement. He noted the sheriff’s office charge at $80 per hour and mentioned the possibility of a special meeting to advance the process.
Town Clerk Lisa Laramee reported election and Town Meeting turnout figures (84 people voted on the CVSD budget—78 in person, six absentee; 31 voters at Town Meeting with seven guests) and said 12 dogs have been registered so far. Laramee has contacted Hinesburg and Williston about holding a rabies clinic; both declined due to liability concerns. She is considering a postcard mailing to remind residents of the State requirement to register and vaccinate dogs.
Treasurer Adam Beach reported $1,200 remaining from a MERP mini grant and said he will contact the state contact (Ann) to identify ready-to-go energy-resilience mailers and coordinate printing and distribution of materials. He said he will provide an update on tax collections and budget vs. actuals at the next meeting.
