The Hillsdale Board of Education approved asbestos remediation work and construction pay applications tied to the George G. White Middle School addition and renovation project at its June 22 meeting.
Buildings and Grounds Committee motions (1BG–6BG) included authorization to proceed with quotes from T&M Associates ($2,100.00) and B&G Restoration Inc. ($3,800.00) for asbestos remediation at Meadowbrook Elementary; the Board also approved agreement modifications and change orders for T&M Associates to perform additional lead paint screening using X‑ray fluorescence (XRF) and to monitor removal of asbestos‑containing floor tile. The minutes record incremental contract increases (Modification No. 6 for $890 and Modification No. 7 for $900) and show revised agreement totals as the consultant’s scope expanded.
Separately, the Board approved progress Payment Application No. 4 to Dobco, Inc., the construction contractor for the George G. White Middle School addition and renovation, following review and certification by the construction manager (Epic Management, Inc.) and the architect (BWS Architects).
The Board also approved the district’s testing and reporting of lead in school drinking water and the required Statement of Assurance for the 2025–26 school year. Use‑of‑facilities requests related to summer activities and community groups were recorded as approved.
All motions related to buildings and grounds were recorded as passing by consensus vote (4–0). The minutes attach vendor quotes, change‑order details and consultant amendments to support the action items approved.
