The Selectboard voted to appoint Highway Superintendent Lenny Howard as Putney’s E‑911 Coordinator at the Aug. 7 meeting. Town Manager Karen Astley explained that Vermont regulations allow the town to have a single coordinator (with trained assistants) and recommended Howard for the position.
The motion to appoint Lenny Howard passed on a motion by Eric McGowan, seconded by Nate Snell, with no vote tally recorded in the minutes beyond "Motion passed." The appointment was recorded as effective at the meeting.
Separately, the minutes record that EMS completed training Aug. 5 and was fully activated Aug. 6. ESO, the call-and-records program, is being implemented and administrators have been assigned; staff will provide regular Fire/EMS reports to the Selectboard going forward.
