At its meeting, the Onida council approved a slate of routine and program actions and took one tabling action:
- Pickleball funding: Council committed '0.5' city funding toward a pickleball court after a resident presentation (see separate article). Motion adopted by roll call (yes recorded from Marla, Caleb, Jessica, Mike and Terry; JR not recorded).
- Building permits: Council approved the permits in front of them, including an accessory dwelling and a garage reconfiguration for Raelene Olson; the permits were approved by voice vote.
- Airport grassland bid letting: Council authorized beginning the bid letting for grassland work at the airport; motion carried by voice vote.
- WSI certification wage increase: An employee who received a WSI certification (Kelly) was approved for a 75¢/hour wage increase; the council approved the increase by roll call.
- Payment for CDL health physicals: Council approved paying for CDL physicals for employees who require Commercial Driver’s Licenses; motion carried by roll call.
- CSDED joint cooperative agreement extension: Council approved the FY2027 extension and a $1,129.98 financial commitment to remain part of the Central South Dakota Enhancement District for January 1–December 31, 2027.
- Storm shelter grant opportunity: Council tabled action on a storm-shelter grant application because required information is due in early July and staff needs to assemble materials and identify an engineer.
- Payment of bills and adjournment: Council authorized payment of bills and adjourned the meeting.
Where roll-call votes occurred, the transcript records the roll calls and affirmative votes by name (Marla, Caleb, Jessica, Mike and Terry) while one member (JR) was not recorded responding on several roll calls. Council directed staff to follow up on quotes, grant materials and implementation steps for several items.
