St. George Selectboard approves road RFP with extended bid period, clerk pay raise and consultant contract; allows EIN use for community grant

At its June 18 meeting the Selectboard approved the BR1469 RFP (bid period extended to three weeks), accepted an assessor Errors & Omissions certificate, approved a $5/hour raise for the town clerk, renewed the road consultant contract for one year, appointed CCRPC reps, and allowed use of the town EIN for a VT Humanities grant application (vote 3–1).
The St. George Selectboard on June 18 approved multiple administrative and procurement actions, including a revised RFP for a Better Roads project, a wage increase for the town clerk and a one‑year renewal for the town’s road consultant.
On the roads agenda, consultant Ron Rodjenski summarized status updates on projects BC 2287 and BR1469 and urged approval of the BR1469 RFP to proceed with work on Willow Brook Lane. Selectboard member Adam Dantzscher moved to approve the RFP as presented, Judy Scott seconded, and the board amended the motion to extend the bid period from two weeks to three weeks. The amended motion passed unanimously. The minutes record that Ron will work with Town Clerk Lisa Laramee to post and publish the RFP and that Joel Colf and Laramee will open bids on July 13 at 4:00 p.m.
The board accepted an Assessor Errors & Omissions certificate after reading an email from Assessor Justin Mason that said the change reflected a state valuation the board must approve locally; the Selectboard noted the vote would not affect an upcoming Board of Civil Authority hearing on the listed valuation. The motion to accept the certificate passed unanimously.
On personnel matters, the Selectboard approved a wage increase for Town Clerk Lisa Laramee of $5 per hour, raising her rate to $35 an hour; the motion was made by Adam Dantzscher and seconded by Terri Hallenbeck and passed unanimously.
The board also renewed its service agreement with Stone Shore Municipal Consulting, LLC for road consultant services provided by Ron Rodjenski for another year; that motion passed unanimously. In appointments, Terri Hallenbeck was named to the CCRPC Water Advisory Committee, Adam Dantzscher to the Transportation Advisory Committee, and Joel Colf to the CCRPC Board of Representatives; the appointments were approved unanimously.
Separately, the board considered a request from Asher Menashe to use the town EIN for a VT Humanities Council grant supporting a planned Human Library series. Joel Colf moved to allow use of the EIN for the grant application, Terri seconded; the motion passed 3–1 (Joel, Judy, Terri in favor; Adam opposed). The minutes note that approving EIN use does not commit town funds; should town funds be needed, the applicant must return with a budget action item request.
The Selectboard concluded its business with approval of the consent agenda and adjourned at 10:18 p.m.
