Selectboard raises dog-license fee, agrees to self-fund Schoolhouse repair and approves routine items

At its Feb. 23 meeting the St. George Selectboard approved several administrative actions. Town Clerk Lisa Laramee reported that the annual town report has been mailed and posted and that ballots for the Champlain Valley School District budget vote are available. The board voted unanimously to increase the town dog license fee by $2.00 after a motion by Terri Hallenbeck and a second from Judy Scott.
Treasurer Adam Beach recommended that the town pay to reconstruct the Schoolhouse vestibule without filing an insurance claim. Beach presented approximate out-of-pocket costs: about $2,600 for materials and labor, $290 for trash cleanup, and roughly $2,500 to replace the metal roofing. The board accepted his recommendation by unanimous vote.
The board also approved the consent agenda, which included the January Selectboard minutes and order number approvals, and approved the 2025 Grand List Certificate of No Appeal. Rob Crites moved to adjourn the meeting later in the session; the motion passed unanimously.
