Road commissioner: no mileage changes; RFP planned for $45,000 Ayer Road grant

Scott Brooks, the town's road commissioner, told the Selectboard the Certificate of Highway Mileage for February 2026 showed no changes and that he obtained signatures from the board and town clerk to forward the document to the Vermont Agency of Transportation.
Brooks said staff will prepare a request for proposals for a $45,000 grant intended for work on Ayer Road; he added the town is still awaiting word on an earlier grant submission from November. The town clerk ordered a whiteboard to help track road grants and related deadlines.
The Selectboard did not vote on grant acceptance at the meeting; Brooks indicated the next steps are preparing the RFP and waiting for responses to the pending November submission. The board directed the clerk to email the mileage certificate to AOT as part of routine reporting.
