Sandgate Selectboard names second bank signatory, notes town-report deadlines and road sign request

At its meeting on Feb. 2 the Sandgate Selectboard voted to add Selectboard member Rob Viglas as a second signatory on town bank accounts at Bank of Bennington and M&T. Selectboard member Linda Schmidt made the motion, Joe Nolan seconded, and the vote was unanimous.
Chair Joe Nolan told the board that auditors were still awaiting portions of the Town Report financial statements from the Town Clerk; the printer deadline for the report is Feb. 6. Nolan said the board would call the Town Clerk from Town Hall on Tuesday morning to confirm that the missing items will be supplied promptly. Nolan also reminded the board that critical deadlines for ballots and other items related to the March 3 election are approaching.
Bill Mitchell delivered the road report, saying Rupert Road and West Sandgate Road are in the best condition he has seen. Lister Phyllis Skidmore asked the board to place a "Bump" sign at the bump near the covered bridge on Sandgate Road and noted a similar bump near the church.
The board approved revised minutes from Jan. 5 and Jan. 19 by separate motions and votes, then adjourned at 7:25 p.m. The next Selectboard meeting is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 16 at 6:00 p.m. in Sandgate Town Hall.
