Planning Board Chair Eva Morel told the selectmen she wants official recordings of Tree Agents’ verbal comments during deliberations so the Planning Board can verify grievances raised in meetings.
Morel said the recordings are needed to document the content of comments that have been described as provocative during deliberations. Selectman Ron Profaizer agreed that applicants’ remarks had at times been provocative, cautioned that edits to minutes should be done with clarity, and suggested the Planning Board seek legal counsel on the proper process. Profaizer also said he will be absent for the next Planning Board meeting.
The minutes record that Selectman Steve Goldsmith accepted the role of Planning Board alternate during Profaizer’s absence and that the selectmen later formally appointed Goldsmith as ex officio/selectboard alternate to the Planning Board on a motion by Jay Croteau; the selectmen agreed to that motion.
The Planning Board reported no communication from Zane White on an unrelated matter; the board will review Merrian Road layout comments at the next meeting. The selectmen encouraged the Planning Board to pursue a clear record and legal advice before altering minutes or relying on verbal recollections.
Next steps noted in the minutes: the Planning Board is advised to seek legal counsel on minute‑amendment procedures and to update its roster to reflect Goldsmith’s alternate/ex officio role.
