Selectmen record routine approvals and a $200,000 monthly school payment

The board appointed Judy Lundahl to the Conservation Committee after Lundahl briefed the selectmen on concerns about Hemlock Woolly adelgid and her contacts with the Harris Center. Selectman Jay Croteau moved to appoint Lundahl, Selectman Steve Goldsmith seconded and the board agreed; the oath of office was left for the Town Clerk.
The selectmen also approved a motion by Croteau, seconded by Ron Profaizer, to pay the school district $200,000 per month based on student enrollment and Keene tuition. The board accepted the minutes as amended on a motion by Steve Goldsmith, seconded by Croteau. Selectmen voted to deny loaning town property for private functions after a request from Melinda Garland. The board appointed Selectman Steve Goldsmith as the selectboard alternate/ex officio to the Planning Board for Ron Profaizer during his absence.
Later in the meeting, Selectman Ron Profaizer moved to enter a nonpublic session under the RSA citation the board referenced; the motion passed, the minutes of that nonpublic session were sealed on a subsequent motion, and the board exited the nonpublic session later the same evening. The meeting adjourned at 10:37 p.m.
