Culbertson council accepts water-pit lease offer, approves Tahoe engine replacement and switches workers' comp provider

Council also reviewed a new quote from High Plains Motors in Wolf Point for a GM crate engine at $13,356.42 with a three-year or 100,000-mile warranty and authorized replacing the engine in the town's Chevy Tahoe to extend the vehicle—s service life. The motion to proceed with the engine swap was made by Abe Rumsey and seconded by Carl Donaldson; the motion carried.
Finally, council received a workers' compensation quote from Seitz Insurance (Sidney) showing a lower premium estimate than the prior year and voted to switch workers' compensation coverage to Seitz Insurance through the Montana State Fund effective July 1, 2026.
Council recorded each action as carried with no objections and instructed staff to complete contract paperwork and scheduling for the engine replacement and lease deposit.
