Treasure County plans $300/month telehealth tablet subscription for local schools and public health

One presenter summarized experience with the pilot and noted it had been used in other counties and jurisdictions: "The actual the pilot program for the tablets for mental health actually was started right in the my jurisdiction back in New York... I've used it over Rosebud since I've been there," the presenter said. Commissioners reported the county had lost a prior 100% grant but said a new contract would cost Treasure County about $300 a month for two tablets and subscriptions.
Officials agreed to provide Zoom-based training for school nurses and other staff and to coordinate some in-person training or regional sessions if practical. The county discussed having two tablets — one for a Colstrip school and one for Forsyth school in a neighboring county’s pilot example — and training public-health staff to use the telehealth platform.
Next steps: the county will sign the subscription contract, schedule Zoom training for school and public-health staff, and monitor whether the tablets are used enough to justify the monthly subscription cost.
