Plankinton’s City Council voted to require a standardized set of monthly financial reports from the finance officer, approved the town’s law-enforcement contract for the coming year, and reaffirmed a $5,000 annual contribution to the Plankinton ambulance service.
Clerk/Staff (S4) explained that the monthly packet will include a balance sheet, revenue-and-expense reports by fund, a bank cash report and reconciliation journal, bills-to-pay, a capital-projects summary when relevant, and an accounts-receivable list. Staff acknowledged a formatting issue with the balance sheet that they will correct; council approved the requirement and directed that council packet materials be delivered by noon on the Friday prior to meetings to allow sufficient review time.
Separately, the council approved a one-year law-enforcement contract with the county for $79,662, to be paid in two installments (May and November), and voted to continue the town’s long-standing annual $5,000 contribution to the Plankinton ambulance service. Both motions passed on voice votes.
What happens next: finance staff will finish formatting the balance sheet and implement the monthly deliverable schedule; the law-enforcement contract will be executed and the ambulance contribution scheduled in the budget.
