The Sandgate Selectboard approved several routine motions at a special meeting on Feb. 20, 2026, including a $5,000 purchase of a snow plow at half price for the town pickup and a $50 annual membership in the Association of Vermont Conservation Commissions.
Rob Viglas moved to approve the plow purchase from the Highway equipment fund; Linda Schmidt seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board recorded the total cost as $5,000 and that the purchase would come from the Highway equipment fund.
Linda Schmidt moved that the town pay $50 annually for membership in the Association of Vermont Conservation Commissions to qualify the town to apply for additional grant funds; Joe Nolan seconded and the motion passed on a unanimous vote.
The board also noted that highway orders were signed but full payment for a new truck was excluded pending confirmation of the amount due; Jessica Lewis Stevens will confirm the total before the board approves payment. Board members discussed the need for a representative to the Regional Transportation Advisory Committee and Joe Nolan said he would ask Jay to serve. Linda Schmidt said she will review BCWSA meeting minutes to determine what the new fee will be.
The meeting lasted from 6:13 to 6:47 p.m.; the board set its next meeting for March 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall.
