Sandgate clerk-treasurer announces resignation; will assist in transition

Town Clerk and Treasurer Sandy Reidy told the Sandgate Selectboard on Feb. 6 that she is resigning from her position and will assist in training whoever succeeds her.
Reidy said she will document her office’s procedures so that Assistant Treasurer Jessica Stevens and other town officials have a reference for the duties Reidy performs. Selectboard member Joe Nolan said he and Reidy will contact Stevens, who was recently appointed assistant treasurer, to see whether she is interested in taking on additional responsibilities.
The selectboard discussed coordinating with Reidy, Stevens and other town officials to determine how to move forward but did not record a formal vote or set a hiring timeline at the special meeting. The board confirmed routine administrative steps — including preparing documentation and outreach to potential internal candidates — as immediate follow-up actions.
The selectboard adjourned at 6:20 p.m.; its next meeting is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 16, at 6:00 p.m. in Sandgate Town Hall.
