The Sandgate Selectboard approved the town'wide General Budget at its Jan. 5 meeting, adding $6,240 to fund six hours per week of additional clerical help for Town Hall under the Assistant Town Clerk line item. The motion to approve the General Budget was made by Selectboard member Linda Schmidt and seconded by Selectboard member Rob Viglas; the board voted "all in favor."
The board received the proposed budget packet from Sandy Reidy prior to the vote. Members discussed the clerical increase as a personnel and administrative expense intended to support Town Hall operations; no amendment to the amount was recorded in the minutes. The Selectboard postponed a vote on the 2026-27 Highway Budget to its Jan. 19 meeting.
The board did not record an individual roll-call tally in the minutes beyond the unanimous "all in favor" notation. The next step is the Jan. 19 meeting, when remaining budget items, including the highway budget, will be considered.
