Parkston council split over amphitheater Homecoming date, approves full schedule on second vote

Council members who opposed removing the Homecoming date said the full schedule should be available to the Commercial Club; those who opposed the Homecoming date said they were concerned about setting a public example for school‑aged children. The council did not adopt an ordinance restricting alcohol at that event; the record shows the matter was resolved by the vote to approve the full dates list.
The council clerk will notify the Commercial Club of the approval and the club may proceed with permitted events as scheduled.
